I haven’t been inspired to do nail art lately, but last night I got a sudden impulse to re-create one of my previous designs. Someone liked my old picture on Instagram and I frowned because I felt like I have gotten so much better then I was back then. I wanted to challenge myself and see if I was right. The design in question was my Valentine Cute Teddy Bear design which gave me my first win in a nail art competition.
TL Design - Pink Cadillac
For my base I used one of the color from the price of the original design. TL Design – Pink Cadillac from the amazing “50’s Collection”. On top of that I created a gradient and topped it off with China Glaze – Fairy Dust.
Pink ombre / gradient
For the base I used:
TL Design – Pink Cadillac
OPI – Kiss Me I’m Brazilian
OPI – Strawberry Margarita
China Glaze – Fairy Dust (added after the picture above was taken)

For the bear I used:
Polishmylife – Storm Clouds
Black and White acrylic paint

And here they are! My nail art from February 2014 and seven months later, the new and improved version.
Then and Now - Cute Teddy Bear Nail Art
So I’m not sure I actually did that much better on the bears themselves. But what I can say with certainty is that my photography skills and “posing” has gotten a million times better! Because I added Fairy Dust I didn’t want to mattify them, but I think it’s cute some gloss anyway. 🙂

So now I’ve told you what I think, but I’m super curious to find out what YOU think?! Do you think I’ve improved? And do you like these kinds of posts?

  1. They are super cute!!! I’ve just copied the idea ready for Valentine’s Day, thank you so much! And I think you did amazing work both times. You must have a very steady hand. I struggled to get the eyes the way I wanted them.
